Chipotle Mexican Grill

We were eating at Chipotle Mexican Grill and on the back of their cups they have interesting stories to read. If you have been there with your kids you probably are busy talking with them so let me pass on a story about The Land Institute. This Kansas based nonprofit is working to transform agriculture by cross-breeding annual crops like wheat, corn, sunflowers with deep-rooted perennials. The story goes on to say that planted in mixtures, they diminish the need for pesticides, herbicides and fertilizers as well as saving water, reducing erosion and replenishing soil. We may not all think big but we can do our part by buying organic products from food, to bedding, to clothing for kids and ourselves or planting our own organic garden. The extra expense is worth it!!!!
