A note from my mom
Two years ago, my daughter started her own organic baby clothing line. This adventure developed for two reasons. The obvious reason was to stay home with her one year old son and the second reason was to bring an organic cotton baby product to the market place that interested a new generation of concerned, eco-friendly families. Many lessons have been learned about starting a business alone with a family and about a bio-chem major turning into a business student on her own. Cheers to an adventure and its ups and downs....cheers to determination... and most of all CHEERS to the idea of making baby clothing out of certified organic cotton. This special process helps this earth stay healthy in so many ways. Yea to sustainable farming practices......it's not all about money. Go frenchybabyorganics!!!

Chipotle Mexican Grill
We were eating at Chipotle Mexican Grill and on the back of their cups they have interesting stories to read. If you have been there with your kids you probably are busy talking with them so let me pass on a story about The Land Institute. This Kansas based nonprofit is working to transform agriculture by cross-breeding annual crops like wheat, corn, sunflowers with deep-rooted perennials. The story goes on to say that planted in mixtures, they diminish the need for pesticides, herbicides and fertilizers as well as saving water, reducing erosion and replenishing soil. Check out http://www.landinstitute.org/ if this interests you. Amazing how people are so inventive and serious about sustainable agriculture and thinking BIG about helping our planet. We may not all think big but we can do our part by buying organic products from food, to bedding, to clothing for kids and ourselves or planting our own organic garden. The extra expense is worth it!!!!
